A Leader in Nonprofit Fundraising

Lois Buntz has been helping organizations and individuals achieve their mission for the past 35 years. As a nonprofit professional, Ms. Buntz has rebuilt and reenergized several nonprofit organizations and developed strong networks in the community. Recently retired, she had served as CEO of United Way of East Central Iowa for the past twelve years.




Her fundraising experience is well known in Eastern Iowa. Having raised more than 110 million dollars through United Way, she also implemented an endowment campaign that increased revenues by 50%.  Facilitating two capital campaign projects resulted in new or remodeled facilities, including a 14 million dollar Human Services Campus.  She also lectures on Women and Philanthropy and is currently working on a book related to the topic.

Lois understands people and processes. She has managed numerous employees and hundreds of volunteers. Her former board members share their administration and respect for her work as a CEO with business expertise and a spirit of compassion and mission. She has served on more than 20 boards of directors, including 2012 President of the Cedar Rapids Rotary Club (330 members).

Lois is an educator and trainer. As a faculty member at Clarke College and University of Iowa she taught a wide range of courses.
